About this service

This visit is for competitors preparing to take part in MMA, boxing, Muay Thai, or similar combat sports who need a medical clearance before their event.

During the appointment, a clinician will review your health history and conduct a medical assessment to determine whether you are fit to compete. The visit is conducted in person so that any required physical examination can be completed.

Bring any relevant medical records, prior test results, or documentation requested by your sanctioning body or event organiser to help the clinician complete the assessment.

What's included

Included

  • Review of your medical and health history
  • In-person medical assessment for combat sport participation
  • Medical clearance documentation if clinically appropriate

Not included

  • Any additional tests, scans, or investigations ordered separately
  • Fees charged by sanctioning bodies or event organisers
  • Treatment of any conditions identified during the assessment

Charges

Your card is checked when you book and charged only after the clinician completes your visit. What you are paying for is the clinician's review and judgement, not a particular answer. For a visit at an appointment time, the fee applies once the clinician has seen you — including where they decide the document you asked for should not be issued. If that visit does not take place, you are not charged.

Questions

Which combat sports does this clearance cover?

This service covers MMA, boxing, Muay Thai, and similar combat sports. If you are unsure whether your sport qualifies, contact the practice before booking.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Bring any relevant medical records, previous test results, and any specific forms or requirements from your sanctioning body or event organiser.

Will I definitely receive a clearance certificate at this visit?

The clinician will complete an assessment and provide documentation if it is clinically appropriate to do so. The outcome depends on the findings of your examination.

Are additional tests ever needed?

If the clinician determines that further investigations are required, these would be arranged separately and are not included in this visit.
